American Liszt Society - 2011 Bicentennial Composition Competition

The American Liszt Society announces their 2011 Bicentennial Composition Competition. The prize consists of $4000 awarded by Steinway & Sons and a first performance of the winning composition at the 2011 American Liszt Society Festival, University of Georgia. A Panel of American Liszt Society members will form the jury. The identity of composers will not be revealed to the jury.
The jury will be publicly identified upon the announcement of the winning composition.

Composers of any nationality born between 1/1/71 and 12/31/85 are eligible. Contestants are required to submit a single or multi-movement work for solo piano, 8-15 minutes in length. Entered works must not have been previously publicly performed or published.

Scores should not bear the name of the composer. A sealed envelope containing the composer’s name, contact information, entry fee, and composition title should be included. A recording or MIDI realization may be included, but is not required. A self-addressed stamped envelope for return of materials may be included if so desired. (International submissions cannot be returned). To submit, please send three copies of the score to:
