INTERNATIONAL WIND ENSEMBLE/CONCERT BAND COMPOSITION CONTEST, “HARELBEKE, CITY OF MUSIC 2009 – 2010”.

The Town of Harelbeke (Belgium)'s aim, in holding for the fourth time a biennial International Composition Contest, is to consolidate its position as a “Town of Music” on the world map.

Contemporary music, more specifically in the sector of music for wind and percussion instruments, deserves permanent backing. In our role as a Town Council, our aim is to motivate composers and performers and to provide a window onto the world.

The importance of this contest shouldn't be underrated.

Building a musical bridge between international communities is, after all, essential to the future of mankind. The contest makes a contribution towards that.

INTERNATIONALE HARMONIECOMPOSITIEWEDSTRIJD “HARELBEKE, MUZIEKSTAD 2009 – 2010”.

De stad Harelbeke (België) wil met het voor de vierde maal uitschrijven van de tweejaarlijkse Internationale harmoniecompositiewedstrijd haar plaats als “muziekstad” op de wereldkaart bevestigen.

Hedendaagse muziek, meer bepaald in de sector van de harmoniemuziek, verdient een permanente bevordering. Als stad willen wij componisten en uitvoerders motiveren en een venster op de wereld openen.

Het belang van de wedstrijd is niet te onderschatten.

Een muzikale brug bouwen tussen internationale gemeenschappen is immers van wezenlijk belang voor de toekomst van de mensheid.

De wedstrijd levert daar een bijdrage toe.

CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL POUR ORCHESTRE D’HARMONIE “HARELBEKE, VILLE DE LA MUSIQUE 2009 – 2010.

La Ville de Harelbeke (Belgique) entend confirmer sa place de «ville de musique» sur la carte du monde en lançant pour la quatrième fois un concours de composition international et bisannuel.

La musique contemporaine mérite une promotion constante, plus particulièrement dans le domaine de la musique et d’harmonie.

Notre ville souhaite ouvrir une fenêtre sur le monde aux compositeurs comme aux exécutants.

L’importance de ce concours n’est pas à sous-estimer.

Car construire un pont musical entre les communautés internationales est un engagement crucial pour l’avenir de l’humanité. Notre concours y contribue.

Nous espérons pouvoir compter sur votre participation. Que la musique gagne !
