The Renee B. Fisher Foundation and the Neighborhood Music School invite composers to apply for commissions to write short piano works for required performance by young pianists in each division at its 2012 and 2013 piano competitions. Deadline for application is November 13, 2010. This is a biannual competition; four composers will be chosen, two for the commissions in 2012 and two for the commissions in 2013. Each will receive $1,000 to write a new work for talented young pianists; the divisions for each year are elementary/middle school (Grade 8 & below) and high school (Grades 9-12).
