The Boston New Music Initiative announces a Call for Scores for chamber works to be performed on its September concert. Works not selected for performance on the September concert program will automatically be considered to be programmed at another date in the 2010-2011 concert season.

Details:

1. Works can be for any combination up to ten instruments. Works for standard chamber ensembles (string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, piano quintet, Pierrot ensemble, etc.) are encouraged. Vocal (maximum eight singers) and solo works are also encouraged. Computer, electronic/tape, and electroacoustic works will also be considered.
2. Works can be of any duration, although preference will be given to works that are 15 minutes or less.
3. There is no limit on number of works submitted, although each work should be submitted as a separate entry.
4. Selected composers must be members of the Boston New Music Initiative or become members upon selection. Membership is free.
5. Works involving text should be in the public domain, or composer should include evidence for permission of use.
6. For files larger than 25 MB, please use a file sharing service such as YouSendIt.com.

8. If selected, parts must be delivered by July 15, 2010.

Composers should submit via email (subject: "JUNE CALL FOR SCORES"):

1. PDF file of the score. Other formats will not be accepted.
2. An information sheet containing the following information:
1. Composer’s contact information (name, phone number, physical mailing address, and email address)
2. Title, instrumentation, and duration of the work
3. Work’s date of completion and complete performance history
4. Performing rights organization (ASCAP, BMI, etc.) associated with work, if any
5. Composer’s year of birth (for program information only)
3. (Optional) MP3 or WAV recording of the work. MIDI realizations are also acceptable.
4. Composer biography and program notes of the work (300 words or less for each), to be included in the program if selected.
