New York Composers Circle—Call for New Works

The New York Composers Circle is pleased to announce an opportunity for composers in the New York area to come to one of its monthly salons and audition their music for the group. This may lead to an invitation to join the NYCC, a New York City composers' cooperative now in its eighth year, which is currently producing four concerts a season featuring its members' chamber works. If you are interested, please write to Jacob E. Goodman at the email listed below with a description of the piece you will be bringing – its title, instrumentation, duration, and the particulars of its performance, and include some information about your musical background. The first five composers responding will be invited to come to the NYCC's next salon, subsequent respondents to future salons in their order of application. If you are invited you will be asked to bring a piece of yours that you can arrange to be performed live for the group, or a CD of a live (or *good* MIDI) performance of one of your works. As is the NYCC's custom, you will also be expected to introduce and make some brief remarks about your work to the assembled gathering.
