The Delaware Valley Chorale (DVC), an adult community chorus based in Wilmington, Delaware, announces the 2010 Choral Composition Competition for young composers. The winner of the competition will receive a $500 cash award and the opportunity to hear the composition performed by DVC during the 2010-2011 concert season. Winner will be notified by May 1, 2010 and publicly acknowledged at the DVC concert on May 16, 2010.

Eligibility/Guidelines: The competition is open to applicants who will be 30 years old or younger as of March 1, 2010. The winning composition will be selected by a jury. Submissions must be original compositions of 3-8 minutes duration. The composition may be in any style, a cappella or accompanied by piano, and should be primarily for four parts (SATB). Arrangements or harmonizations of existing works will not be considered.
