Call for Scores: Each year the NNSF Call for Scores invites submissions of contemporary scores for chamber ensemble that are performed by Performance Fellows at the annual Nief-Norf Summer Festival. Composers of selected compositions will be invited to attend the festival and coach festival students and faculty in the preparation of the work.

The summer festival will bring this generation's brightest, most promising composers, performers, and scholars together in the state-of-the-art University of Tennessee music facilities from June 10–24, 2019.

PRIZES

1-5 compositions will be performed during the festival “Musica Prospettiva 2018-19".

The guidelines for the submissions:

1. Applicants may be of any nationality and age.
2. Selected composers must be present at the festival (June 26-30, 2019) in New York City.
3. Multiple submissions are welcome, but each must be submitted as a separate entity.
4. Those composers chosen to write new works (Category #5) will be notified by January 1st, 2019. All other composers chosen to participate in the festival will be notified after February 1st, 2019.

Taught and mentored by Milica Paranosic, a Juilliard trained (MM) composer, is a weekly workshop for composers looking to submit works to competitions and calls for scores.
Small group up to six people. We work on scores examining all aspects of composition, notation, preparation for submission, presentation etc. Instrumentalist to talk about and demonstrate extended techniques.
5 PM to 7 PM Mondays for 13 weeks.
The fee is $750 for the full semester or $60 per session.

Composition workshop, Monday nights

A new composition class/workshop oriented towards the composition competitions and calls for scores.
Milica Paranosic, the workshop mentor and instructor (Masters from Juilliard in composition) oversees and mentors the composition progress, from compositional, notation and presentation angles.
The group is invited to share feedback as well.
We meet Mondays, 5 - 7, for 13 weeks.
The price of the workshop is $750. Two visits by prominent virtuoso new-music instrumentalists to demonstrate various techniques are included.
